Photography has been a strong interest for many years and was inspired by my father who enjoyed photographing his many rhododendrons. Light, color, texture, and form all inspire me to grab my camera and start shooting. The use of montage, special effects, and various Polaroid techniques have allowed me to expand the possibilities.
Workshops have played an important part in my continued interest and development as a photographer. I attended the 2002 Rocky Mountain School of Photography Summer Intensive program and recently participated in a Portrait workshop on Whidbey Island taught by the National Geographic photographer, Sam Abell. I am currently exploring infrared photography and using my photos in mixed media art.
